This was the vacation of great vistas. Four stops, four hotels with wonderful
views from our rooms, and many extraordinarily scenic activities – from the
picturesque town of Stein am Rhine, to the breathtaking views of the
Berner Oberland, to the splendor of Lake Como, to the quiet (well, almost)
of Lake Orta.
Our trip report -- written more than two years after the fact -- follows. Good
notes helped, but so, of course, did all the wonderful memories and
images etched indelibly on our brains.
